More Information (English):

With Daïmir we finally bought our first and long-sought Akhal-Teke for the stud.
As a 5.000-year old breed the Akhal-Teke is probably one of the oldest breeds of the world.

Deriving from the old Turkmanian horse one of his most famous decendend is “Byerly Turk” who gave origin to the English Thoroughbred. He definitly was a purebred Akhal-Teke. Most probably the Akal-Teke is also ancestor of the purebred Arabian horse. A closer look at the many drawings of horses in the old Egyptian tombs shows horses in front of the carriages that are not as short-lined as our today´s purebred Arabians, but are long horses with especially long necks and high carried heads with a straight profile. The paintings compared with the today´s Akhal-Teke show that both are identical.
There are only around 3.000 purebred Akhal-Tekes all over the world. Originally they were bred in the Akhal-oasis in the black Karakum-desert in Turkmenistan by the Teke-tribe. The most famous breeding programms afterwards lie in Russia, there especially in the Kaukasus- and Kalmukian-region, and also in Kasachstan and Usbekistan.

Genetically special is the dominant metallic-glow-gene of the Akhal-Teke. It explains the metallic sheen in the Akhal-Tekes from which this horses got his second name the “Golden Horse”. Also genetically special is the “Cr”-delusion-gene:
Combined with the bay color, as with Daïmir, the colour is buckskin, combined with chestnut the horse turns out palomino. This means that Daïmir will pass on his delusion-gene producing buckskins and palominos with a high percentage.

The Akal-Teke is one of the most efficiant performance breed. In 1935 some breeders started a “public relation”-ride of 4.300 Km (around 2,700.00 miles) from the Turkmanian capitol Ashgabad to the Russian capitol Moscow. All participating Akhal-Tekes arrived alive and sound. The ride took only 84 days of which 360 Km (around 230 miles) went through the Karakum-desert in 3 days. Participant of this ride was also the famous stallion “Arab”, many years jumping-horse of the year and also recordholder in show-jumping with 2,12 meters. He became father of the famous “Absent” who started as a successful racehorse and later participated as one of the most famous dressage-horses in no less than 3 (!) Olympic games, winning 1956 the goldmedal, 1960 the broncemedal and 1964 ending fourth for Russia.

Daïmir was bred by the Kalmukian stud Chagorta. As a 2-year-old he became a race-horse at the track in Piatigorsk, Russia. With 4 starts he was once winner and twice third. His father-line is “El”, his mother derives from the “Gelishikli” -line.
As 3-year-old Daïmir was started in dressage and jumping and then exported from Russia to Geneva in Switzerland. After having been many years a dressage horse he started breeding rather late in the Swiss stud Atekinska from Evelyne Giobellina and was also on lease at the Lindenhof-stud of Hans Hutmacher.

The purchase of Daïmir has been a breeding dream for many years. With him we now have fulfilled the idea to establish the oldest of the 3 thoroughbred breeds in our stud. Daïmir copes with our high standards of high-quality-movements competable to the modern sportshorses-dressage and combines this with a very good jumping-ability, courage and willingness and especially with an all-around-performance, tested already on the track and in many years of dressage work. He is a friendly, extremly willing and gentlemen-like stallion. Fortunately he also carries both, the metallic- and the dilution-gene.

He is not only registered for Akhal-Teke-mares but can also be cross-bred with any other breed – no matter whether Warmblood, Arabian, Thoroughbred or any other breed – all can be registered as Half-Akhal-Teke.
The combination with performance-proved purebred Arabian mares (=
Arasian® Horse) is registered with the German ZSAA (www.zsaa.de) , all other combinationc can be registered with the Russian MAAK, the German ZfDP or the Swiss Akhal-Teke Association.

Daïmirs father lineage: El
The founder, 100 El, was foaled in 1932 at the 69th Stud Farm (later to become Komsomol and later still the Niyazov Stud), and as a youngster he was, as Belonogov put it in the Third stud book, "kept in poor condition by underfeeding." Once taken the to Ashkabad Hippodrome, he fared better, and proved to be a quality race horse, doing the 2000 meters (roughly a mile and a quarter) in a respectable 2:24 (compare to an average speed of 2:05 for a Thoroughbred running the same distance) as a four-year-old.
El, whose name means "Wind" or "Power," was a golden bay stallion with a short, plain head on a shortish neck; a long back with a very long loin, an excellent croup, good, dry legs and the curious combination of quite long pasterns and rather straight hocks. His lack of depth through the girth was considered at the time to be due to the impoverished circumstances in which he had been raised. He did not have the extremely "dry" conformation and indeed, he was known for suffering occasional swelling of the hocks (which may have been a relic of his racing days). Of his breeding, he is inbred to 2a Boinou 5 x 3 x 5.
El stood at stud at Ashkabad, and there it is said by Belonogov that he sired many offspring. It would appear that many were sold or conscripted for the war effort, for by 1945 only three of his foals remained: the stallion Enlimez, who was never formally registered, and the mares 1184 Elan and 650 Elmik. Enlimez himself left only a single son, 682 Almaz, and it has been through him that the line of El continues.
Horses of the line of El have proven exceptional speed and endurance combined with high quality-movements for the modern dressage-sport and extremely well jumping ability. At the present time a great deal of effort is going into maintaining this line with ist spezial performance abilities.
